My STORY

Hello! I am Amanda Abraham, a creative Newborn & Family photographer in Berkley, Mi. There is something about toothy smiles, small toes, and giggles that just make my day. I started my photography business in 2012 after receiving a BFA in photography from Saginaw Valley State University.

When I’m not trying to make your little ones laugh in photos, you can find me reading a great novel, or at home in sweats, working on some other kind of creative project. In particular, I love gardening, and love to incorporate florals from my home into your sessions. My passion is to give you memories you can look back on and remember all the little details from your child’s life.
ABOUT the owner

HI! I’m Amanda

My styling as an artist uses a more relaxed, lifestyle posing in a rustic and boho atmosphere, where families are interacting with each other more than being super posed. This will mean less “looking at the camera” shots, and more emotional connection between family members. I’ll help give you prompts into moving and playing with your kids in the photoshoot, and will work around you to get some authentic moments of you guys doing your thing. Kisses, hugs, dancing, games, picking flowers are just some of the fun things we can do to really get those memorable moments captured in your session.

Since my sessions have a rustic and relaxed style, clothing styling in all my sessions as a brand use more of the neutral, earth-toned color schemes instead of bolder or bright colors. Earthy colors in your outfits will complement the location you’re in, and create an overall softer color scheme for your photoshoot (think colors that you’ll see out in nature, as well as anything close to the skin tone). You will want to wear something that makes you feel comfortable and beautiful, and I can assist styling if you need help!  This rustic style will be incorporated throughout the session in terms of the locations you choose and/or props used.

Sessions are booked Monday-Friday only, and times may vary according to your needs and seasons.

*Newborn sessions are to be booked while pregnant for best availability, looking at your due date to schedule and set with a deposit.

1.

Movement with kiddos is inevitable. During your session, I”ll help to use that movement to our advantage so your photos will be genuine and not forced. Sometimes it’s the little details we want to remember, and with play, we can create those genuine moments you’ll never want to forget.

Location is key. I love to work with natural bohemian settings, and can send over a list of tried & true rustic locations to choose from. If you’re looking for an overall romantic styling, Golden Hour sessions are for you. Trust me!

Sometimes less is more when it comes to props. Often, the best sessions are ones where we let the location speak for itself. I do however, love to include botanical elements into your sessions
